I love travelling and most of all the people I meet really touches me.
On a recent trip to London I was rushing down the platform to catch a train. It was the usual London everyone was in a big rush, pushing and almost running. Then in the distance I could see a girl up front of me, in one hand was trailing behind her a large suitcase on wheels and in the other she had a walking stick. No one seemed to notice her struggle as they pushed past her almost knocking her over. Before i reached her the whistle blew and she got on the train. As it so happened the platform attendant signalled for me to get into a carriage before the train left, as i jumped on board there was the same girl standing there in tears.
I stood beside her and asked her if i could take her bag and not to make her feel so bad I told her that I knew it was painful on your hand when you have a stick as i used to have one too!.. She told me that she had surgery for cancer, I thanked her for sharing her story with me. I shared my story and we hugged and chatted. Then i asked what seat number was she sitting in. It was the carriage before mine. I took her bag and helped her to her seat. It was hot and sticky but she was feeling better now she was seated. I hugged her again and made my way up the carriages to find my seat.
As i passed the drinks carrriage, I though of this girl hot and the 2.5hr journey we had ahead. So i asked the man in the drinks car if he would mind my bag and i would go back and give some water and a magazine to the girl i had helped on the train. When i went back to her she was shocked and with a few more tears I left her. I was just helping someone in need, it give me joy in my heart.
However when i got back to the drinks car and picked up a bottle of water and sandwich for myself as i went to get my money out the attendant said "You helped someone today.. there is no charge" I thanked him dearly, got my bag and went to my seat, marvelling at the universe paying me for my good deed.
This is just one instance of the life I live, just know the best gift you can give to others is the example of your OWN lifes experiences when they mirror theirs, this gives them hope, shows them we are reisilent and that nothing stays the same. It will also confirm to you that you are now flowing with your life and enjoying it to the full.

Following in the footsteps of Ireland’s No.1 Hero.
Who is it our no.1 hero, no it not Roy Keane, Bono or even Bertie Ahern. This man is a real legend the first to put Ireland on the map of the World. Today streets, housing estates, buildings, schools, community centres and even our sons are named after this man (you may even be). He has his own day each year were crowds of people flock to the street in celebration of his life. Have you guessed who he is???? Yes Patrick, St. Patrick Ireland’s no.1 Hero. Remember before the Celtic Tiger Ireland was known as the land of Saints and Scholars, what an inheritance we have. As you may know when Patrick was in captivity in Ireland he spent most of those 6 years as a Shepherd living on the side of a mountain, and so many of Ireland’s greatest mountains are named after him. Today I would like to talk of one particular mountain Croagh Patrick where he is believed to have spent 40 days and 40 nights fasting, now that’s what I call persistence. The story goes at the end of the 40 day fast Patrick threw a silver bell down the side of the mountain knocking the Shedemon Corra from the sky and in turn banishing all the snakes from Ireland (snakes are often used as a metaphor for fear.) So you are free from fear. I had made a decision I would climb this ancient mountain on the 25th of July barefoot. Organized by Pat Slattery and in aid of the Baby Max fund wings of love (more information go to www.babymax.ie) all proceeds will go to buying much needed equipment in hospitals to save children’s lives. So I found myself at the bottom of Croagh Patrick at 5am Sunday Morning ready to ascend and descend in the bare feet. The entire path to the top if gravel and rock and the most challenging is on the way down it took me 1hour 5 minutes to climb and 2.5 hours to reach the bottom again.
Along the way I thought of the many challenges people have today and how they can be overcome with persistence and absolute determination. There were moments on the way down where I could have cried with the pain being so intense but giving up was not an option, I remembered that countless people go through greater difficulties everyday and that I was blessed to have the ability to do this. Other people passed me climbing or descending the mountain they would say ‘Good man’, ‘fair play to you’, ‘bless you son’, ‘o your tough boy’ and with each bit of praise and good hearty clap on the back which came my way it got easier (kind words do make a difference).Overall it was a very humbling and soul cleansing experience and I would highly recommend it.
When I was a kid, I always had this dream that someday I would meet Superman. I really believed in the man with super powers who could really fly, with character of steel, Someone who really was a strong force for good he was one of my role models. Later I learned Superman didn’t really exist (or did he)
Well about a month ago I met a real live Superman, no he does not wear a red cape or disguise himself as Clarke Kent. But he has a character of steel + is an amazing force for good.
He is my role model of today – He is TONY ROBBINS.
This man to me is like a modern day saint as he helps people to banish demons from their life. He gives hope – inspiration + Kick Ass determination to millions of people worldwide every year. He shares the tools and knowledge of a successful life in every area. YES he is a business man Extraordinaire, but mainly he is a humanitarian – feeding 3 million people per year through his foundation. ( which he started at the age of 17)
